Good morning and happy Memorial Day! Shirley and Liz, my heart goes out to both of you today.

I am taking Emmy for a long hike this morning then going to my Uncle's assisted living for an afternoon picnic. Usually at this time I am in my mother's hometown putting lilacs on the graves of her side of the family. It is a small town tradition, pancake breakfast then everyone heads to the cemetery to spread the lilacs.

QOTD-There are fleeting moments that make my heart smile, when it happens I try hard to savor the moment because it's gone about as fast as it comes. It's like an "ah ha" moment, if that makes sense:-)

B-Bullet Coffee

L-Plain Greek yogurt w/pumpkin, stevia and almonds and 1/2 grapefruit

S-none

D-tbd, probably hamburger and hot dogs will be served at the picnic

E-Hike with Emmy

Have a peaceful and safe Monday!

Good morning VSGers!

My menu today:

What brings me joy - let's see. I would say that it's seeing my 25 year old son adulting so well. He has a good job, his own apartment and two cats. LOL And my 23 year old daughter is getting her life together after a number of years (starting in middle school) in a downward spiral with drugs, alcohol and very destructive relationships. We had absolutely no relationship for several years. No contact. She is now sober, has a wonderful boyfriend who adores her, and is turning into a wonderful young woman. Best of all, our relationship is now very close and very loving. Though I still won't let her move in with me.

It's a beautiful thing to see and I'm so grateful. There was a point that I didn't know if the next phone call would be that she had overdosed, or arrested or worse.

She's on her way over to help me with my clothes sorting project. I spent HOURS on it yesterday and I have a big bag for Goodwill, a big bag for Union Gospel mission and a couple of huge bags for the YWCA or SafePlace!

I think the clothes are cloning...it's seeming like the more I sort through, the more there is to sort!

Ever see "The Trouble with Tribbles" ?

I'm 28 and have no idea how to adult. I'm bumbling away through adulthood and hoping for the best! My video game habit and stuffed animal collection isn't helping me adult any, but.. well compromises.

I am glad you and your daughter have gotten close again and she's improved and turned things around!

OMG she came over today to help me purge...

  • 3 garbage bags full of clothes for Goodwill
  • 2 garbage bags and a bag of shoes for SafePlace or YWCA
  • A bag of shoes and hotel toiletries for Union Gospel Mission
  • 3 bags of garbage

This is all out of my BEDROOM. Next weekend she's going to come over and help me go through two more closets and a couple of bins.

I am in pain. I'm so tired. I haven't had anything to eat (or drink, other than water) since 12:30

I'm almost too tired to make myself something to eat.

It's been a good day.

Sorry everyone - rookie mistake. I put my reply in the wrong place and messed up the thread.
