Whatcha Eating Today VSGers? Sunday, April 29, 2018
Happy Sunday! We leave for vacation on Friday, so I'm trying to grt caught up on laundry and get the house in order today.
QOTD: I was terrified that I would gain it all back... and sometimes that fear still pops up. But I did a ton of research and realized that surgery would give me the best odds of actually keeping the weight off and pushed myself to do it. I have continued to research and I believe I have a good grasp on what leads to loss/maintenance and what leads to regain. The choices are mine to make each day. That's the scary and reassuring part.
B - Coffee and Protein shake
L - triple zero yogurt and almonds
D - chicken kabobs and citrus coleslaw

I don't remember if you have said in previous menu posts, but where are you going on vacation to, Jess?
We are going to Orlando for a week. We went last April to Disney & Universal, but over the past year I've been reading Harry Potter to the kids so this time we're just doing Universal & focusing on the wizarding world!!! We're also going to the giant universal water park!
Last time we went I was over 300lbs and had a injured foot. I am SO SO excited to go again in a body that will fit on the rides more comfortably and have more energy.

Good morning! Why am I surprised that planning my food, measuring everything, tracking every bite, and sticking to my calorie allowance actually made my weight drop this morning? It's so simple and I make it so hard for myself sometimes.
QOTD: I was afraid and still am that I will gain the weight back. My love of crappy food is still alive and well. But being here, being accountable, and not playing the ostrich helps.
B - coffee, yogurt, berries, grain free granola
L - egg white, turkey sausage sandwich, apple
D - real good enchiladas, asparagus
S - protein shake, cheese, salami, crackers
Thank goodness we know those basics now - I'm working on dropping a bit too and when I do the basics for a few days in a row it works!

I'm very afraid of regaining. I'm trying to make it a "healthy fear" by doing just as you said, not being an ostrich. Keeping track of everything we do is the habit that will keep us going.
Good morning! It is supposed to rain here today as well. My dog isn't feeling well(hurt her mouth with a large ball) and my mom has been is sick and in bed this morning. I think I am going to have two patients today. Was supposed to go see a solo performance today of an amazing Cellist, don't think I am going to make it.
QOTD-My biggest fear pre op was how I was going to do it on my own post op while still caring for my mother. The only way I could get over the fear was meticulous planning, scheduling and lots of lists.
