Newbie Here
Hi all, I'm new here so thought I would introduce myself.
I've been battling obesity for pretty much all my life. I finally said enough is enough and started the process for WLS. I have a surgery date of 5/3/2018 for VSG. My hubby and Mother have already had the procedure and have both lost over 100 lbs. I'm now doing the pre-op liquid diet and am on day 2. I'm excited but I'm sure my anxiety and nerves will hit soon.
Any tips and tricks for battling this 2 week liquid diet and post op troubles are always appreciated.

Best of luck! VSG was the best thing I ever did and in a way was easier than I anticipated (but maintenance is really hard and I knew that would be the case).

I didn't have a liquid only diet, but it was still restrictive enough it was a battle. Keep your water bottle full and with you at all times, with flavors and/or fruit-flavored protein powder if you prefer. And keep reminding yourself what it's all for. I honestly found the pre-op diet harder than anything that came post-op.

Congrats! Hopefully your mom and husband will be a really great support network for you. I've got to say, I'm always sort of jealous of people who live with other WLS people. It would be awesome for my entire household to have the same way of eating :P
My best advice is keep as busy as possible. For me, distraction was the way to survive the pre-op diet.

Maybe your compliance will encourage him to get back on track?
