New to this...met my goal!!
So it's been a year since I had my sleeve and I would say best decision I made for myself. I have met my goal within this year going from 355 to 170. I am looking for help from others who have gone through the sleeve procedure. I still find I struggle with portion sizes at least I feel I'm not eating alot but my sleeve feels full or definitely takes me a decent amount of time to eat is that still normal a year out of surgery? Some around me feel I've lost too much weight in the year but I feel I've hit my goal and have now been maintaining. Anyone else encounter this on their journey?

Hi and congratulations on hitting your goal! That is such a terrific accomplishment. If you are struggling with portion sizes maybe you are off on sizes? Only way I know for sure is to weigh my food. Even then I find the weighted serving size of something like chicken to be more than I can eat without feeling too full, so yes I think that's normal to still be restricted.
Most people have told me I have lost too much and would look better with 5 more lbs added onto me! I don't think so at all

I met my goal for weight loss about a year out as well. I am right at 18 months now, and have lost a little more. Weighing and measuring is the key. As Mershmellow said, it is not always one or the other. Sometimes I can weigh out my food and the volume is more than I can eat.
Eat what you can. Track it. You will find a medium where you know what you can eat and how much and maintain the weight you want.
I'm just about 15 months out and I still can't eat more than 4oz weighed ounces. So, yes that's normal! I am down to a 19 BMI. I imagine at some point I'll have some regain so I'm just riding the awesome wave right now.

Are you still losing? If not then you are eating the correct portion size to maintain your new weight. If your new weight is not underweight, then you probably haven't lost too much. And if you feel full on what you are eating and don't want more, lucky you!

Then it sounds like you eat what you should. I used to think SIL ate REALLY small portions. She has always been thin. Now I eat about the same amount as her.

People around you always think you've lost too much weight in the beginning. They are not used to seeing you that way, and with quick weight loss our faces often look gaunt. That will change, things seem to redistribute in a good way.
