Sushi
I have sashimi more than the rolls. I do allow myself to have a roll every now and then. I try to find rolls that are light on the rice or even rice-less. They fill me up really quickly now so I make sure I have people there to share the leftovers and don't take any home.
I love sushi. I -can- still eat it, but I can eat half a roll and it's not a good option due to the carbs/sugar to protein ratio. I have sushi maybe 2 times a year now. And it's one roll for two meals.

Same. I can maybe eat 2 pieces out of a roll if I try it. Once I got a taste for sashimi I liked it better anyway. Tasted cleaner and fresher and the texture was much firmer than I expected. Really love it with a little bit of ginger.
It's funny - I tend to just not eat at the local Japanese place anymore except for when I really want that sushi roll. I've found that some cuisines are like that for me. If I can't eat what I really want, I'd rather not eat there at all! Heh.
But I do love tuna tataki.

You can definitely eat sushi post op, but you'll likely go for different types than before. Skip the rolls and go with good sashimi! You can also get nigiri, but ask the sushi chef to put it on a little bundle of cucumber sticks instead of rice.

I know I'm going to be sucessful even if I write things down here that don't fit in a nice little box. I'm sure I will make mistakes, because I'm human. But I didn't have such a major surgery to end up over weight & unhealthy again. My 19 yr old lost her dad due to diabetes 16 yrs ago and I'm all she has. I can't & I won't let her down.
So dont predict my destiny bexause u cant

I love sushi with all of my heart and have a roll a few times per month. One roll is more than enough and I pick some of the rice off. I also love sashimi and tuna tataki. In the weightloss phase I didn't eat rice (or any grains) at all.
