Pain a week out

Yes!!! I had horrible incision pain. It would send me through the roof. It was definitely not controlled. I had dilaudid and Tylenol 3. Apparently surgeons will give you some extra internal sutures in the larger incisions. The incision where they retract your liver, and the one they pull your excised stomach out of. Mine improved everyday, and took about two weeks to not be unbearable, and by week three it was gone.

Exactly what she said, she had to put big sutures there yo prevent a hernia later & need for anotjer surgery. I'm learning if instay bent at right sise while laying & getting up its so much better, picking things up I scream lol

Exactly! Until the internal stitches dissolve you will feel discomfort. The heating pad helped for me, and holding the area when I moved around also helped. No ice as that can delay healing.
