Advice on revision to RNY

I have a good friend who had RNY. She lost the majority of her weight and then gained back the majority of her weight. It is possible to regain with any surgery. If you look at calories in a simple fast food burger, you will see that it is possible to eat 1000's of calories a day. Add some pasta, bread, high cal sauces and fatty meats or deep fried food and you can still hit 8000 to 9000 calories a day even with the sleeve. Eating often is also possible or drinking with meals.

My suggestion would be to begin logging every bite. Go back to post surgery habits and see what happens.

I wish you all the best.

Hi,

I am a band (5 years) to sleeve (9) years to RNY in 2017. My band slipped so had to be removed, revised to sleeve with chronic reflux and hernia (taking three meds) so I converted to RNY. Very happy with the outcome. No more reflux (for the most part) , off all meds. I did regain about 50 pounds over 9 years with the sleeve but I had orginally lost 154 lbs and when the reflux came, I started eating some crap and thinking I could eat like a normal person.

My opinion is you may want to try and modify your diet and see how you feel on a keto or low carb diet before you consider a revision. I eat about 800 calories a day and almost to goal. I will set a new goal and see where my body lands on the weight loss.
