In danger of not qualifying
As a point of reference, I had surgery with a BMI of 36.2. I actually gained 7lbs during my time waiting for surgery because I knew I couldn't lose. I'm now a nice healthy, normal BMI (21.0-ish) and certainly not underweight. Seriously one of the best decisions I've ever made.

It's really is a great help. I wasn?t saying you shouldn?t, I was saying I wouldn?t (just an fyi). I hate when trolls try to misconstrue what someone says. I wish you the best, and whatever your decision is, it?s yours to make.
Those posters whom you are assuming are trolls are vets that have been on OH for years. You've been on OH for what a couple of months?
Oh I'm sorry, I did not realize there was an OH hierarchy by way of length of membership. I'll keep that in mind next time.
You accuse people of being trolls when they have been on this site for years helping people out. You sound very unhappy and bitter with your life.
I think you're losing sight of what people are responding to. In your original response to the op your post can come off in a few interpretative ways depending on who is reading it.
1 way is the Hey you're a lightweight & might want to reconsider surgery. Another way is because you're a lightweight you should not get surgery. It became a lightweight vs heavyweight type of thing. While you might not mean for it to come off that way, it still can come off that way, along with the stigma wls has among a lot of people.
On subsequent posts it was pointed out that more than just the # on the scale is looked at when getting surgery & you acknowledged that, but at the same time you became disrespectful to anyone that you thought was disrespectful & whose tone you didn't like.
Just keep in mind that with this being the internet, tone & what you consider to be respectful is interpretative.
There's also history built up between certain posters, so what you might see as being disrespectful is really not the case. You won't know that being so new to the boards/looking at a couple of posts.
As you can see there are other strong personalities here as well, but it's not a case of being strong & defending your position, but is also being open enough to see that there is another point of view, & while you might not agree with it, or how it is said, its just how it is.
I've gotten to know Julie & a few other people here that you don't like. If you stick around long enough & get past the need to defend yourself on every post, you'll see what they have to offer.
But you got to take a step back & chill.
For the record, you can put me down for another pea pod. Whether that makes a difference I don't know. People can have the same opinion, but relay their feelings on it in their own way.
No one surgery is better than the other, what works for one may not work for another. T-Rebel
On the contrary, you care very deeply what people think of you, or you wouldn't be going to these lengths to protest. Why?
