I just wanted to thank everyone again for their replies and concern. I have decided to re-post yesterday's food log as it's definitely a good read for anyone feeling unsure of their food choices. Along with yesterday's food log, I am also posting my food for today which is an average day for me. I have no idea how I was able to eat so much food yesterday and realize that I could have seriously hurt myself doing so. There was no portion over 1/3cup in total but everything was very calorie dense.

I would, however, like to remind everyone that this is all program approved food for me. My portion sizes were just too large.

YESTERDAY:

B - Leanfit Protein Shake (1/2c water, 1/2c milk)

L - 1/3c Pureed Egg Salad w/ 2 Melba Toast

D - Pureed Beef Soup (4tbsp)

S - 1/3c Pureed Egg Salad w/ 2 Melba Toast

S2 - 1/4c Sugar Free Ice Cream

Cal: 815 Protein: 63g Carb: 48g

TODAY:

B - Leanfit Protein Shake (1/2c water, 1/2c skim milk)

L - 1oz Pureed Cajun Chicken Salad

D - 1oz Pureed Cajun Chicken Salad

S - 1/4c Mott's Apple Sauce

Cal: 441 Protein:63g Carb: 9g

Thanks again to everyone! :)

Are you pureeing the melba toast with the eggs? Are you measuring how much each of those meals is...in cups or by weight? You need to make sure you are consuming the amount you are supposed to be at this stage. Pureed foods should be very liquidy, like thick soup, so they will slide through your stomach pretty easily. Make sure you are not drinking while you have your meals and you wait 30 minutes before you have any other liquids.

I would agree that this is more than most people choose to eat at two weeks post-op. I was still on broth at this stage. What does your program recommend that you eat? The toast and ice cream especially seem like poor choices for weight loss to me, but this close to surgery it is really important to eat only what you are allowed by the program. Eggs are always a great choice! At 2 weeks out, people are often eating under 500 calories per day - what does your program recommend calorie wise?

You should eliminate the melba toast and the ice cream.

Are you tracking your food in myfitnesspal.com? You should also track your carbs.

Daily goals are generally: Calories - less than 600; Carbs - less than 40; Protein - 65 or more; Fluids - a minimum of 64 ounces. Posting on the Daily Menu Thread would be beneficial too. Check out theworldaccordingtoeggface.com; Shelly has a whole section dedicated to the puréed stage.

Best of luck to you!

Yep. Too much food. At 2 weeks out I was getting in maybe 300-400 calories/day. I actually didn't get to 800 until around 6 months post op

I couldn't actually stomach more than about 1/2 a large egg at a time until weeks out from surgery either. You should be eating about 1oz weighed per meal at this point, I'd say. Eat very slowly and stop as soon as you feel anything at all. And get rid of the Melba toast, it's just carbs which are wasted calories.

I am 17 days post op and I am in the soft food phase until week 4.

My typical day is protein shake for breakfast, 1-2 ounces of tuna or chicken salad for lunch (I can usually only eat 1 ounce and then I have to eat the other ounce later in the day as a snack or dinner) If I can tolerate it I will have 1/2 a protein shake in the evening. My average calorie intake is between 300-400 calories per day.

2 pieces of toast and 2 eggs per meal at your stage is way too much.

One egg. No ice cream. No toast. At all.

It's hard. But if you don't change now, you will never get on the right track, and it will bite you on the butt.

wondering why you deleted, glad I read it earlier! Yes, you're eating WAY too much food for your still-healing stomach.

Because I got all the answers I needed as well as speaking to my dietician :)

I appreciate all of the responses even the brutally harsh ones. However I don't need more people yelling at me on the internet about how I ate too much ONE DAY when my anxiety is through the god damn roof as it is.

Fantastic support community we have here.

So... you asked for advice and now you're upset that people didn't give you the advice you wanted, or give it to you in the manner in which you wanted? I didn't see people "yelling" at you. I hope that you're finding ways to work through your anxiety.
