I followed plan yesterday with the exception of eating 4oz of meatballs for dinner instead of the planned 3oz - and today I am up 2lbs. It's been 5.5 months since I've seen the scale go up and I'm really struggling not to let it effect my mood. I need to just keep eating like I know I need to eat. Is my daily quest bar sabotaging me?

I went from feeling slim and on top of my weight loss goals to feeling chubby and destined to fail all because of the scale discrepancy that I posted about yesterday. Even my clothes feel tighter!

QOTD: I definitely feel less overwhelming envy when I see slim women then I used to

B: scrambled eggs with bacon bits

L: leftover meatballs

D: salmon burger patty

S: quest bar

This is why I love TrendWeight. It lets me see where I'm going vs looking at the day-to-day so hard.

Good morning! Last night I went to the neighbor's house for a dinner with a local author. The neighbor had her whole southern book club up from AL for the week. The dinner was amazing, but holy moly southern food is not diet friendly! There were breaded pork chops that had cheese in the heavy breading, cheese grits, and bacon wrapped green beans with butter and brown sugar. And puff pastry with custard and berries. If I learned anything it's that my capacity has definitely increased since surgery.

QOTD: I don't know that my perception of others' weight has changed, but I am so much less concerned with where I fall on the spectrum of those I'm around now. When I'm heavy all I could do was fixate on being the largest person in the room and how much bigger I was exactly than each person. I still do it to some extent because I'm so much taller than most women I'm around (the book club last night for instance - they were all so tiny I felt like a giant). But the good part is, I worry less about how fat I am in comparison.

B - coffee and yogurt

L - protein shake

D - steak I believe, at another neighbor's house

Good morning folks. Got up before dawn and went on a 13k walk, have already burned off more calories than I will eat today...

QOTD: Nowadays I really don't pay attention to other people's weight, unless it's dramatic. I have a friend who has lost just a little bit less than I have - without surgery - but he's losing because his spouse died and he's been clinically depressed (he was also much bigger than I was to start with). Not really what I would call a weight-loss plan, though...

Still feeling very frustrated. To quote myself (from yesterday): By the time Sunday is over, I will have walked 31 miles this week in addition to going to the gym three times, and I'm still hovering at the same weight. I'm incredibly frustrated right now... at nearly 9 months out, I'm still obese, and I'm still 50+ pounds away from my (not my surgeon's) goal.

Not that I'm going to stop trying, of course. But damn I'm pissed.

B: protein shake

L: tofu stir fry

S: protein shake

D: Mexican... black beans and green chile

E: 13 friggin' kilometer walk this morning

I think that's why they say you can't use exercise to lose weight really. I think it's likely you just hit one of those stalls and you'll have a big drop whenever it breaks. I always go for a week or two after a kick up in my work outs without much loss and then a HUGE drop.

The frustrating part is that as good as exercise is for me, I lose better when I don't do as much. I wonder if you backed off if the scale would move again? But since moving makes you healthier, it's a catch-22.

I have so much energy now, I need to move.

I would literally (figuratively) implode if cut out any exercise right now.

Is is possible you're not getting in enough fuel (re: calories) to support the amount of activity and energy your body is expending so it's hanging onto everything?

I ask this because I stalled out during my WL when I was consistently a lot more active but still ate the same amount of calories I did when more 'inert'. It was only after upping my calories did things kick into gear again.

...just wondering...
