No, and if you go to a hospital in Tijuana, you just travel to San Diego, and then they come and get you. One of my BFFs just had bypass in Tijuana and that's how they did it.
There are others that you stay in Texas and have the surgery in Mexico. It just depends on what surgeon you get. Same thing, you just travel to Texas and they they transport you back and forth.
Is wls not covered at all? My insurance you have to meet certain requirements for it to be approved. Read your policy well. When I was going through cancer treatment I was told different things by different people in the company and denied some coverage. I had to read through that policy and show them where they said it WAS covered. Sometimes you have to fight for your coverage. I hope you can find it in yours. Don't give up.

Thanks. Oh, I'm going to fight until I can't because the overall UHC policy allows for it under certain criteria, but it's in our group plan as an exclusion.
if it is a group plan exclusion, that means your employer didn't buy the rider for bariatric services. The insurance general company is not going to pay for something that a particular plan didn't buy into, I'm sorry to say.
my plan was the same,and I went to max for mine. you might have to think very hard and decide if you can get past the fear of flying to max so you can have surgery and get healthy. Good luck.
it's not the insurance company, it's the policy you or your employer chose that excludes bariatric surgery.
Ask your employer to get another plan. Maybe offer to pay part of the difference in premiums?
Insurance companies tell you that you can appeal because they are legally obligated to tell you you can appeal.
