I recommend you write down your reasons for choosing to have WLS. That way you can read it later when you are having a bad day.
Weight Loss Surgery is an amazing journey. The hardest part is getting the brain really behind the change you want. It is way to easy for it to say "It won't matter if I..." and what starts as an occasional exception can easily sneak back to being the norm. For examples, 1 french fry isn't going to make you gain weight, a glass of wine isn't going to make you an alcoholic, 1 dish of ice-cream isn't going to make you want to eat a gallon. But you understand the issue.
You will discover that there is an enormous variety in what surgeons require and recommend. You will learn that people's paths also vary. What one person can do or does varies greatly from what works for someone else.
What you will find here are a large number of helpful, supportive, and positive people who are at various stages, from others like yourself who are starting to explore, to seasoned veterans who have lost and kept it off, to others who had set backs.
Best of luck!
It is better to travel and get lost...
Than never to travel at all.
