Help with home made shakes!!!??
Can anyone recommend a recipe for me? I can't stand the taste of protein shakes and thought I could try some home made ones!
i bought the PB2 and love it.....it comes in chocolate also.....i need something desperately since I'm only out 2 months and am NOT getting enough protein in daily!
thanks in advance!
Deb
I made my own shakes. Head to the grocery store and get some liquid flavorings and cocoa powder. Here are some of the combinations I made using unflavored protein powder and skim milk:
Almond Joy = coconut + almond + cocoa
Mounds = same as above without the almond
Pina Colada = pineapple + coconut
Tropical Delight = banana + pineapple + coconut
Chocolate Mint = cocoa + peppermint
Banana Creme: banana + a touch of vanilla
Lemon Meringue = lemon + a touch of vanilla
Depending on what flavorings you can get, the sky is the limit!

Have you tried the Syntrax Nectar brand of protein powders? The come in 'juice' flavors so you don't feel like you're drinking these thick shakes. My favorites are Roadside Lemonade, Lemon Tea and Pink Grapefruit. I'll often add a big dollop of plain greek yogurt/skyr to add a little extra protein and substance to the shake.
Also, Unjury makes a Chicken flavored protein powder if you prefer something a little savory. There's also unflavored protein powder available (I use Syntrax) that you can mix into things to add protein but it's basically flavorless.
This is not a shake but I will mix plain skyr or plain greek yogurt with a tbsp of SF syrup and some PB2. Add a scoop of unflavored protein powder, a few cut up strawberries and it's a pretty good little snack.

At 2 months out, I made chocolate shakes with my Vanilla protein. I used Almond milk, 1/2 frozen banana, 1 Tablespoons of cocoa powder. I also used alot of Sugar Free Torani syrup to change the flavor. Most of my shake recipes I got from Shelly, http://theworldaccordingtoeggface.blogspot.com/2014/04/eggfa ce-favorite-protein-shakes-and.html!
