What do you do for exercise? I have joined a gym, I do the treadmill mostly right now, but am looking to go into strength training machines as well.

2 days a week I will use the machines and free weights and the other two days cardio. I'm doing a little running now

I know I can't run at the moment, but I walk on the treadmill. I guess I just need to make myself a plan for the machines and follow it rather than be intimidated by them!

Strength training really helps. Also, change up your workout routine - maybe try a class.

Keep on losing!

If you can afford it, get a trainer. Even for short term. They will show you proper form and teach you not to hurt yourself. Plus, they are very motivating!

I can barely walk and I found out that my slow pace of walking that I was painfully pushing myself to do was burning too few cals anyway so i started doing on YouTube, launchpad live exercise videos (they are seated exercises), 3 times a day in the privacy of my home and its burning way more calories than the walking did. when i am able to finally walk, speed walking will get those cals burned off and then maybe progress to jogging! I am pre-op, doc says i MUST be down 30 to shrink liver for surgery or their cancelling it, I've been doing the Atkins 20 with 800 cals and those YouTube videos, i'm down 15 in 11 days! you can do this girl, focus on one pound a day. 1 pound means you only have to burn 3500 cals and every day life already burns about 2000 cals, find your exercise that burns the most for you, check out calorieking, and its easy to lose 1 pound! Just repeat that every day! Then keep coming back to OH for that moral support cause these guys are great!

A great many people lose in a stair-step pattern. They lose a bunch, bounce around the same few pounds for a week, or two or three, then lose a bunch more. Repeat. This may be where you are.

The best thing you can do is weigh and log every bite of food. Keep your calories at 800 for now. If you are truly eating at that level, you will lose over time. Guaranteed. Maybe not this week, or next, but over time you will.

If you are not weighing and logging your food, you are likely eating more than you think. We all got fat eating more than we thought, not less. And guessing will keep you up at night worrying about the scale. Logging precisely lets you know you are doing everything you can. It gives you great peace of mind.

Exercise is great for health, but will do nothing on the scale. It's actually more likely to slow the scale down in the short term.

Take a breath. If you can honestly tell yourself you are doing your job, 100 percent, you'll be fine.

And what you think is hunger is almost certainly acid. Are you on a PPI? Even if you are, it may need adjusting. Many peole need to try several before they find one that really works.

I've been slightly sloppy at logging which I already knew is essentially important to this process. Sometimes I can stand in my own way. I will have to get back on track and really focus. I am not on anything for acid the doctor gave me something but I never took it. For the most part I'm rarely ever hungry or starving. However there are some days where I feel like I'm starving but I generally think those days are days where I'm not so great with my food or protien. Thanks for the help!

Take your PPI! And log closely. You'll be a lot happier.
