New here and first post, just curious if you drink protein shakes during the day along with your planned meals?

My plan is three meals a day, no snacks. I drink a shake for meal #1 because my body prefers that, but that's the only shake I drink. (Shakes count as meals.)

When I drink a shake it is to replace a meal or snack..and I also use it for coffee creamer. Normally I have one for breakfast or lunch, but occasionally I reach my protein goals without one (see today's menu).

I think everyone varies, but being 15 weeks post op I am not able to get in my 60-80g of protein without a shake. I have mine before bed at night and work it into the my total calories (goal is under 700 right now). That also generally inflates my protein to over 90g and that's nice given I'm working out 5-6 days per week.

I do not eat protein bars, except when traveling but I find they don't sit well with me and that's really why.

I keep a couple protein shakes in the fridge for emergencies--which for me means I have to be somewhere early, so don't have time to eat breakfast--or on the rare occasion when I'm too lazy to fix something and grab the shake instead.
