Loose skin!

I was just wondering if anyone had any tips to help combat loose skin. I just got surgery the first so obviously I'm no where near having loose skin, yet. But I want to do what I can because I really don't want to have to get surgery and honestly even if it's absolutely terrible I most likely won't get it anyway. I just want to do what I can to help my skin bounce back. I'm 25 my parents both have good skin I have been overweight all my life and I know that will play a role too.. my feeling is that it's going to be in my upper arms and belly area maybe upper thighs but I definitely carry most of my weight in my stomach. I am slightly worried about my chest but who even cares I'm getting healthy loose skin isn't going to kill me the path I was on previously was and now I'm ready to be a better me. Sorry for the little rant haha but any suggestions or experiences would help greatly! Thanks you guys ?
Unfortunately, loose skin is a byproduct of the surgery / weight loss and nothing short of surgery is going to resolve that problem. My surgery was June 2016 and I finally got my lazy / stubborn butt to the gym in January....it's made a huge difference. I've been going back and forth with the same rotten 2 pounds for the past few months, but I just bought clothes in a size smaller. I go to the gym 3 or 4 times a week and although I'm still waiting for the endorphins to kick in, they only seem to show up, not when I finish exercising, but when I put on clothes that used to be tight and are now loose!
Being 25, is certainly an advantage for you. I'm 71 and the gym has helped enormously.
Best of everything on your journey and welcome to the Loser's Bench.

Thanks for sharing, I'm not overly concerned about it. I was just curious. I'm definitely going to be hitting the gym as soon as I'm cleared. I see my surgeon the 11th and I'm hoping he gives me the okay. I've been walking a lot on my own at home and it helps with the pain from surgery a lot and I know it's good for me too. I'm really excited for the journey ahead of me thanks again ?
Most of us are only allowed to walk for the first 6 weeks post-op.

honestly the surgery looks so painful I don't think I'd ever do it. I'm going to do my best to keep it decent now lol thank you for the advice
It has a lot to do with how much you weigh to start with and how much you're going to lose. I, too, was overweight all my life. I weighed 297 and lost 95 pounds in a very short amount of time (6 months) when I was 30. My skin bounced back very well, and I didn't have hanging or loose skin.
Fast forward 26 years. I had gained the weight back within 3 years, plus an additional 63 pounds and carried it around for most of that time. Now, I have a lot of hanging skin, but I'm also 57 now. Hopefully, you'll have the luck of young, elastic skin to keep you from having a very big problem. Wishing you luck!
