Pre-Op VSG Diet Question
on 5/4/17 3:33 pm
So you know how you receive the breakdown of what you should be consuming from your nutritionist and your surgeon for the pre-op diet in order to shrink your liver a bit? I was wondering if I could move the dinner meal to a little earlier in the day and one of my fruit snacks to later, essentially switching them.
Is there a medical reason you are supposed to eat the things in the order in which is comes? Did anyone else do this and have everything come out ok?
Go for it.

I wasn't given a schedule ... all they handed me was an allowed food list - 3 protein shakes of X amount of protein and calories. X amount of chicken broth and X amount of plain tomatoes/cucumbers/carrots/peppers. I spaced out my shakes over the course of a day and snacked on everything else as I wanted it. On the seventh day I cheated and had a couple of chicken tenders as well but I still lost 8 pounds in 2 weeks so the doctor was happy with it.
Long story short eat your food list whenever you want to eat it ... just don't eat more than you should (ignore my small cheat, lol)
No reason not to do this :)
