Questions about VSG- thinking about having surgery
on 4/25/17 12:58 pm
Most people lose some hair. It's not permanent, though, and it starts growing back around the 9-month mark or so.
Not everyone loses the hunger feeling after surgery. Many people who DO lose it gain it back. Ghrelin is produced in other places in the body, including the brain, so having part of your stomach removed does not eliminate it completely.

I think hair loss is typical but not a given. I had none post-op.
Hunger does come back, but it's hard to distinguish - for me - between real and "head" hunger. The head hunger never went away so I never had a day where I forgot to eat. Still love, love food. Just do it in a batter way, and smaller quantity. :)
