Just ate way too much

I'm on day two of soft foods and just ate way too much. Ouch! I'm still under 400 calories for the day and under 10g carbs and I have met my protein goals...but why did I just do that to myself! I knew while I was eating that it was too much and I felt myself getting over full and I just kept going because I was enjoying the food so much. From now on I am stopping when I get the first full signal and I'm weighing my portions!

You really want to learn to stop before the first full signal. It's why we're encouraged to eat so slowly so you don't cross into full and not realize it.
PS - I did what you did my first week on soft foods. Ouch! I have been careful not to do it since!
Yep, and this is why we got this surgery in the first place, so we CAN'T overeat like we did. It's a tough lesson to learn, but you soon realize that is one icky feeling when you take that one bite too many!
That is also why there is so much emphasis put on weighing and measuring everything. You now know what your limit is, stick to that and you'll be fine. You will be able to add on in time, but gradually as you heal.
I think we all stumble at the beginning, so don't feel bad. But you learn and move on, that's the important thing!! Onward and upward!
Yep - what they said. I made that mistake twice and learned my lesson!
