Hey, I do not live in New Jersey, but I did do a little googling for you. Some information that turned up was actually old posts from this website, like 2012ish. http://www.obesityhelp.com/profiles/bariatric-surgeon/dr-sam uel-wasser/ This doctor was said to accept medicaid.

I don't see how to edit my post, so I will just reply again. Here is the actual forum post I found that information on http://www.obesityhelp.com/forums/NJ/3462382/MEDICAID-AND-MEDICARE-SURGEONS-LIST/

Unfortunately you might have to travel. Medicaid is hard to find provider's like that for. I have heard of many people who needed to travel out for their surgery. I got really lucky, there were many surgeon's in my area who accepted medicaid. Would traveling be an issue for you?
Hopefully if you look through that second link I added you will find someone much closer to you.

That's really unfortunate. Do you have a primary doctor you see? He/she may have more insight into who takes it.

I have only seen him once since my surgery three months ago. He doesn't require monthly visits or anything, but I also don't have some of the other medical issues that lots of people at my size have (lucky I'm young, I guess.) I am glad you finally got insurance. I hadn't really planned on getting medicaid until I was checked into a mental hospital for a short while, they got it for me while I was in there. It has really helped, I am so thankful for Medicaid and the people and social workers who helped me. Definitely recommend getting into see your primary, they will likely need to sign off on the surgery anyway.
