I'm wondering the oldest age of this forum's members.

I'll be 60 this summer.

I was 49 when I had the surgery, am 50 now. Since I didn't have any complications, I think I would have the surgery up into my 70's if I needed too.

I was 64 when I had WLS. My health insurance has covered in for 17 years. I regret not doing it 10 years ago when I first considered it.

I was 58. My friend had it at 72. Lots of doctors won't do it after age 65 but mine will. Diane

I was 56 when I had my surgery, turned 57 in January. Best thing I ever did--the surgery, not turning 57...although that was pretty good, too! lol

I'd do it at whatever age my surgeon thought it would still be safe.

We have a couple people in our network who were in their early 70's at the time of their surgery, and that was for the more complex DS procedure. Usually, it's more a matter of one's health than age.

1st support group/seminar - 8/03 (has it been that long?)

Wife's DS - 5/05 w Dr. Robert Rabkin   VSG on 5/9/11 by Dr. John Rabkin
