Whatcha eating today? Friday, 4/14/2017
Today is a very important anniversary in my life! Two years ago I decided to go back to college. It's crazy to know that 730 days ago, I had no idea I'd be a college student again, but it's true. I woke up in the morning two years ago and thought "maybe I should look into this." And I did. By the end of the day I was registered for my first classes. In four weeks I'll be finishing my AA in Exercise and Sport Science and moving on to my BSes! This week I decided on an MS plan as well. This is why I tell people that VSG was better than I ever expected it would be - I'm living dreams that had never even crossed my mind to dream.
1: protein shake
2: probably another protein shake
3: innards of a bacon, chicken, ranch quesadilla
liquid and vites: on track
exercise: tai chi class, pilates class and then, if the weather and my body are compliant, running and yoga stretching since I wasn't able to run yesterday and won't be able to run this weekend either!
How about you? What undreamed dreams are you living?

I envy you, Gwen! I started college at age 36 hoping to finish by 40, but got a job in the field I was working for, and college went by the wayside. I'm 12 hours shy of my associates, and my dream is to finish my degree one day in General Studies, just because I want to!
Nothing major going on for me today but housework...yuck!
B: Egg, sausage and cheese, coffee w/cream
L: Tuna salad w/egg on lettuce bed
D: Sirloin steak w/salsa verde and sour cream
Water and vites on track
E: Housework...yuck again lol
Well.. I'm on the 20 year plan for college, so don't envy me too much! :D Thankfully it's not a race. One day you'll get there! (And, hey, seniors get GREAT discounts on classes, so take your time!)

Fantastic anniversary to celebrate! I started back to school in May 2012, but I only take one class per semester (and occasionally an online summer course). I work at a University, so I'm allowed to take 12 credit hours per year for free.
I worked out with my trainer last night and HOLY CRAP. I had to pull/push the sled for the first time. I had visions of my life flashing before my eyes, but I did it! And I was rewarded with a jaunt into the 177's this morning
My daughter has her last gymnastics class of the semester tonight and then I'm hoping for a quiet weekend. It's supposed to be warm and rainy, so maybe some reading on the covered front porch.
B: Dannon L&F and Babybel
L: Smoked Salmon & Laughing Cow
D: TBD, the rest of the family might be doing pizza. If that's so I'll probably do "taco'd chicken breast" again.
S: Premier Protein & Cabot Cheese Square
E: 3 mile walk on lunch break

Thanks! Awesome that you get to take classes for free! I'm hopeful that whatever job I get after my BSes will contribute at least a little to my MS classes.

It's becoming more common for that to be a fringe benefit for sure! That benefit, plus the fact my children can go to school at over 400 private Universities for free are what keeps me fighting the good fight at my job. Especially since the University I work for has tuition costs of $60k

Ugh at that tuition. I hear you, though. My partner just switched from working at a public community college to a private college and we joked that he should adopt the child of one of our friends since tuition at his new workplace is apparently $56,110 before books. o_O
Although, it's funny, the college he's working at is very much a "special snowflake" college and the children of some of his coworkers actually transferred to inexpensive state schools after a free year there because they didn't feel weird enough to fit it :P

Higher education is always a good thing! Isn't it neat how certain dates just really resonate and ring with us? Good share, Gwen! Have to work today, but so looking forward to a nice low-key Easter weekend. Going to a charity bingo event for another local rescue group tomorrow early eve and looking forward to spending some time with friends I haven't seen in at least 2 to 3 months. I'm hoping I can find a good grilled chicken option on the Hamburger Mary's menu offerings!
Easter will be spent quietly with Mom in Law and hubby and that's alright with me. It will be less tempting than going over to my sister's where everyone has loads of baked goods and desserts they bring to share. I am thinking a sugar free lemon mousse is going to be right up our alley this year, since I am a long way from any kind of maintenance.
