Two years (photo)
So, I'm two weeks shy of two years post-op. I've been struggling for a while with a lot of the head stuff which comes with these kinds of transformations. I don't feel like I've done well enough. Hell, most days I don't even think I've done that much to change. The "new normal" is not my mental health's friend. Most days, I've forgotten where I came from and beat myself up for not doing better.
I'll never be skinny, but I really do like where I am now (even if it is SO WEIRD to be at a place where a five pound gain makes me feel so fat -- when you're ~300lbs, five pounds isn't even noticeable). I need to cut myself some mental slack and enjoy the benefits of what surgery and losing 115lbs has given me.
My check-in is always to try on my last "fat outfit". This shirt is the one I would wear when I wanted to feel hot and sassy. I kept it specifically for these kinds of reminders.
Now, I'm looking forward to plastics this year (arms in May, LBL in October). I really hope that will help with some of the dysmorphia issues.

You are doing amazing!! Love that side by side, you don't even look like the same person. I also kept my biggest pair of jeans and my "sexy" shirt as a reminder. Great way to remind yourself where you started.
I also had a huge mental journey to go on after surgery and I'm still working on it every day. Good luck with your journey!! Make yourself and your emotional health a priority. You are doing great!

You have done INCREDIBLE!!!! I'm just wondering (feel free to say it's none of my bizniz), but have you done any therapy for your mental journey? You talk about body dysmorphia that you hope will be helped by plastics, but have you worked on the MENTAL body dysmorphia you seem to be struggling with now?
Again, congratulations on such a PHENOMINAL weight loss!!!
