Am I losing weight too slowly?
Hi-
I had surgery on 1/23/17 and I'm down 34 lbs (9 lbs before and the rest after). After looking at everyone else's weight lost on this site, I too, was comparing myself to them. I had to stop doing that.
1) Water and exercise play a part in weight loss (as well as protein). Drink at least 64 oz of water.
2) Everyone loses at a different rate. If you have more to lose, it seems to come off quicker in the beginning.
3) I haven't gone over 600 cals yet. I use fitday.com and I put in everything I eat (usually make them custom foods) so that it's accurate. I didn't like Fitness Pal. I make sure my carbs are under 20 or not much over. I don't care about fat. I usually get about 60 grams of protein.
Hope this helps. Everyone is different. You just have to find out what works for you.

The little engine that could.....
I'm in the same boat. I'm 3 weeks out from surgery and I've lost only 15lbs since then. It's frustrating. I'm hoping it is just a stall, but I figure that maybe going slow isn't so bad either because maybe the excess skin won't be too bad when I reach goal. I've also started to prevent myself from using the scale as much as I have and trying to do it weekly because I'm going to drive myself crazy if I see no progress day to day.

Surgery 1/17/17. I drop and then I don't. I had a week where I did 1.4lbs and then the next week was 4lbs, this week was 1lb. It comes and goes. Keep on, keeping on!
