Gurgling?
My stomach gurgles a ton when I eat. Just to cover my bases here, I:
- Eat slow, chew very well
- Have never had pain/been sick due to overeating (and weigh and measure everything)
- Haven't stepped off plan a single time (I've only had protein, no veggies/fruit/carbs)
- Am 7 1/2 weeks post op
- It seems to happen with everything but liquid
I watched an AskDrA episode the other day where he said that the gurgling can be from inflammation caused by acid. I'm not on a PPI as my doc doesn't prescribe them after surgery preventatively. I did not have reflux pre-surgery and don't have any other signs now. Normally the gurgling will lead to the need to burp, which sometimes takes awhile to get out (and directly during eating can feel like it's stuck behind food).
Normal for this stage?

I still gurgle, though it happens less and less often (I'm almost at one year post-op).

My tummy gurgles. I don't take PPI and have no reflux issues - pre or now. It gurgles more if I lay down. Most times I do burp.
Hope this helps. You're not alone.

The little engine that could.....
I'm 3 months out and gurgle. My sleeve makes all kinds of noises..very entertaining, I like to joke that it's singing to me. It started up at church this morning and my husband kept giving me this look out of the corner of his eye and trying not to laugh.
