Why???
Totally normal. I was told not to weigh myself for the first two weeks post-op due to fluids gained in surgery. As long as you're getting your liquids in, working on your protein, and walking as much as you can, you'll be fine.

Exactly, completely normal. I was up 9 lbs after surgery due to all the fluids...took me a week just to lose that, and then after another 2 weeks I hit the 3 week stall and didn't lose for a month, but it does come off, I promise you!! Hang in there, stay the course, and one day you'll step on the scale and be amazed!!
yup......fluids!
keep on with getting your fluids and proteins in and soon it will start going in the right direction.
also......take your measurements (ignore the scale for a little while - right now it's not your friend)............you'll see inches disappearing soon too and that's always fun......soon you'll be discarding clothing too!!
Good friends are like stars.
You don't always see them but you always know they're there.
You've just had major surgery, repeat MAJOR SURGERY! Chill out, your body is in wtf mode. Give yourself some slack. Your body is probably more concerned with healing rather than showing weight loss on the scale.
Hang tough, take measurements, weight loss won't always show up on the scale.

Hi:
I'm 18 days out. I agree with Kathy H - I was just about 9 lbs more when I went home from surgery. It lasted for about 4 days. Then, I started losing up until the dreaded third week out. I stayed at the same weight for 4 days - the stall just broke today. Woo hoo.
Everything that has been said is so true. Just follow the course and hang in there. It's just temporary. I promise.
