Hey! New here, but not really new to surgery
Hi guys! Another refugee from the forum that must not be named.
My name is Barb and after dieting my way up to 235 pounds, diagnosed with high blood pressure and pre diabetic, my husband, who had successfully had the bypass 8 years earlier and kept his weight off, suggested bariatric surgery. On 8/22/2014, I had the VSG, and it was one of the best decisions I've ever made! Although it took me a while (15 months), I lost a total of 92 pounds and settled at a weight of 144-145 pounds that I've maintained give or take a few pounds for well over a year. Now pushing the big 5-0 , I look and feel like I'm in my 30's (okay, early 40's). I can run a few miles, climb 130 levels of steps on the Stair Climber, and am stronger and fitter than I've ever been.
Happy to meet you and and excited to continue this crazy ride with you all! We are all in this together!
BE STRONGER THAN YOUR EXCUSES.
Welcome! Sounds like you have done great...it is a crazy ride. I had surgery about a month before you...can't believe it has been 2 1/2 years already...time has flown!
