What cha eating today, VSGers? - Friday
Good Day, all!
I'm back on track after a week's diversion by the Carb Monster. Thank Goodness!
Breakfast - my usual salmon
lunch - chicken and broccoli made with soy sauce and garlic and a little cheese on top. - great for weight loss.
Dinner - I just made a ham and cauliflower casserole that should also be low cal and low carb.
snack - almonds, if I need one. I've been skipping this the past few days, and I hope I can continue on just 3 meals.

Good afternoon: I am new to this forum and would like some information. I should be having my surgery in February or March, there is a great deal to accomplish before having it. At this point I've been watching what I eat since August and have managed to lose 12 pounds. Is it harder to diet before the surgery or after? I am anxious about the success of the surgery but I'm also tried of the yo-yo dieting that I do. Thanks for any information you can provide.
Welcome to the forum. I wish you every success in your weight loss journey.
I think it is easier to diet after the surgery, because the surgery changes your body in ways that support weight loss. Its more than just the restriction - which helps if you follow the rules. Its about appetite and other factors - I don't know how to name them. but I can tell you that I'm the same person who got to 385 pounds and could never sustain any weight loss. But after surgery I have been able to lose and maintain the weight loss. The surgery doesn't make it easy, but it makes it possible.

I am waiting for my surgery date. Hoping for January. I lost 11 lbs and I think the hardest part of my journey is keeping it off until the surgery. My biggest problem is portion control so I can't wait until my stomach is reduced.
Just keep in mind that the surgery is a tool. You have to make changes in order to succeed.
Congrats on losing the 12 lbs! Pat yourself on the back and keep going.

Since I'm working nights, I woke up and made dinner for breakfast.
B 2 ounces shrimp with 1 tsp butter, 2 ounces broccoli, .5 ounces cheddar cheese
S cheese sick
S protein drink
L 4 ounces shrimp at 3am
D 2 eggs at 9am
