Meals
I use a "meal maker" list sometimes when bored. I basically pick one from each category and then meal plan around it. I will also make lists of everything on hand to do this and use up food to save money.
Pick a protein:
1. turkey
2. chicken
3. shrimp
4. fish
Veggie (these are from my list, customize as you wish)
1. butternut squash
2. sweet potato
3. cauliflower
4. escarole (braised, it's soft then)
5. broccoli
6. peppers
7. eggplant
Mix with a spice:
1. garlic/onion/parsley
2. sesame seed/nori flake/salt
3. italian seasoning
4. curry
5. harissa
Add a fat (use measurement based on your specifications or omit if desired)
1. coconut oil
2. ghee
3. olive oil
4. sesame oil
Topping (omit if wanted - obviously pick one that goes with the rest :)
1. finely shredded hard cheese
2. parsley or other herbs
3. chopped nuts
4. small amount of finely chopped cranberries
5. blue cheese
Steamed and cooked all of these reheat well. I work 12-15 hour shifts and that's what I do.
I follow a ketogenic diet post-op. I also have a diagnosis of binge eating disorder. Feel free to ask me about either!
It is not that we have so little time but that we lose so much...the life we receive is not short but we make it so; we are not ill provided but use what we have wastefully. -- Seneca, On the Shortness of Life
