NSAIDS

Avoid them, but you can't NEVER use them. Just don't use them on a regular basis.
Thanks so much everyone. From what I'm hearing, it's better to stay away from nsaids as much as possible no matter which procedure I have. It really make a lot of sense b/c my (string bean) husband developed a perforated ulcer that was very deadly years after he no longer took them. So even though normal ppl develop ulcers, I suppose the risk IS higher with WLS patients with smaller stomachs.
Hi there
My surgeon said using NSAID'S was fine for vsg patients but to be careful during the first 6 months of healing. I was on a slow release 800mg brufen twice daily for chronic pain and inflammation.
This was not something I wanted to risk my new healing stomach with so I have consciously shifted my diet to be as natural as possibe including anti inflammatory vegetables, ginger & tumeric tea etc. I've noticed a difference in the flare ups with the reduction of processed food and when I really need it I use celebrex which seems to keep things at bay without needing prolonged use.
This is just my experience but hope this helps somewhat.
