4 Days Post Op Update and a Question

So my surgery was Wednesday and I did really well with it. The doctor told my husband that it couldn't have went any better and that I had very minimal bleeding. So that's good.
I ended up going home the next day. I pushed myself to get out of there. I had to drink and keep down 20 ounces before noon/1p and I did. It wasn't really hard but I did it.
I didn't have any vomiting. Just a touch of nausea but not bad at all.
I wanted to go home ASAP as my kids great grandmother (my husbands grandma practically raised him) died a few days before my surgery and I wanted to go to at least one of her services. I wasn't able to go to the really long one but went to the burial the next day.
I feel awful I couldn't be there for my children or husband. My husband is so worn out from all he has had to do. Thankfully I had a couple of really awesome friends who were able to stay with me when he couldn't.
This week has been really hard, I know it could have been my much worse though. Now our 3 yr old has a fever and has been on the couch sleeping all day. Hoping she gets better soon and I don't get whatever it is she has.
As far as how I feel I'm okay for the most part just still pretty sore and my back hurts a lot. I don't know if it's bc I'm sleeping in a recliner or because I'm walking just a tad slumped over.
How many days did you all wait to weigh after surgery? My NP said to wait a month. I guess since some people jump right on the scale and don't realize things are swollen and they were pumped full of medicines and IV fluids.
I had planned to wait two weeks due to reading about experiences here. I managed to wait one week :)

I weighed every day after I got home. I weighed about ten pounds more than the morning of surgery. It took me a week to break even again.
6'3" tall, male.
Highest weight was 475. RNY on 08/21/12. Current weight: 198.

I only weighed at the surgeons office or monthly surgiversary until I hit goal. I knew from past experience that any uptick in weight, slow down in loss, or stall would me crazy. Now in maintenance, I am weighing every day and it actually has been enlightening. However, I still think that with my personality the choice on when to weigh while losing was the correct one (for me).

Glad your surgery went so well. Sorry to hear of your loss and your daughter's illness. Hope she gets well soon. I am also in Tennessee and my surgery was Tuesday. I am assuming my surgery went well based on being released the next day and how I am feeling. My husband didn't get to speak with the surgeon afterwards because he had stepped outside for a few minutes. Guess I will be able to discuss with the doc on the 30th during my follow-up appointment. My husband brought me home and then returned to the hospital and was admitted himself for 3 1/2 days. My son in law was too ill for my daughter to come stay with me and neighbors were all working. Long story short, I spent those days with my dogs taking it very easy - maybe that is why I am doing so great now. I did step on the scale this morning and although I am still bloated, did see some progress. Feeling very positive!
