Which Iron pills do you use?
I just had my 3 month follow up and with that they drew labs. Blood work came back and I was told my iron was low and I needed to take a iron pill with vitamin C. I was taking the Opurity multivitamin whi*****ludes Iron but I need something stronger. Any ideas?

I use carbonyl iron, the Sundown Perfect Iron brand. It has no side effects, such as constipation, that the ferrous salts often give.
For every 30 mg of elemental iron, you need 200 mg of vitamin c. Don't take iron within 2 hours of anything with calcium in it, tea, or coffee.
Did you have your ferritin tested as well as hemoglobin and hematocrit? You can raise your iron pretty easily with oral supplements, but it can be nearly impossible to raise your ferritin without iron infusions.

They tested all three and my iron is borderline low. My ferritin was a 12. Thanks for responding!

You can bring your iron up fsirly easily. Bringing your ferritin up probably isn't going to happen without infusions. If my ferritin was a 12, I would be camped on a hematologist's doorstep.

I take Feosol Original:
Since I switched to Feosol from using Sundown carbonyl iron my iron and ferritin levels have both moved from low/anemic to well within normal.
I don't have any side effects from the Feosol.
I take it with a small glass of diet cranberry juice -- 5 calories and 100% RDA of vitamin c.
Whatever you end up taking, do not take a "slow release" or "time release" supplement -- they tend not to work well with sleeved stomachs.
Thanks for replying!

My iron was a little low at one point and my surgeon's office told me to take Vitron-C.
