Congrats! It feels so real now when you get your date and have started the liquid diet phase. Keep us posted on your progress!
I just had my surgery Monday, and I was on a 2-week pre-op liquid diet, so I feel your pain. My suggestion is get creative with your protein shakes and it will be much easier. I got some small bottles of flavorings--banana, pineapple, coconut--and some cocoa. Made up several combinations with these and the variety made it so much easier. By the end I was at the point where I couldn't eat as much jello as I had at the start, so your stomach will definitely shrink along with your liver. Hang in there, it's just around the corner now!!
In the spice section, little bottles of liquid flavorings. McCormick brand has some, but they're kind of expensive. I use Goodman's brand, they are very good, and cheaper. Depending on your store and where you live, you might not have much of a choice. Just make sure to check the bottle that it has no sugar in it. Some of the Goodman's brand flavors do, some don't. You can check out the nutrition information for that brand here: http://www.goodmansvanilla.com/Goodmans-Nutritional-Informat ion.pdf
I am using unflavored protein powder to make my shakes, but even if you're buying premixed, you can add flavors to them to mix things up.
Best of luck!!
