Vagus nerve cutting??

My daughter had VSG a few months ago...She is doing well.  I had RNY over 10 years ago.  We both had the same surgeon.  The surgeon cut the vagus nerve on both procedures.  I believe the nerve splits at the stomach a Y or V type of thing and he cuts on one of the sides.  How many of you VSGer had your vagus nerve cut??  Do you know if your doctor cut yours??  Thanks, Brian

I had RNY and mine was cut.   It completely got rid of hunger for me.  

I had the VSG also.  Mine was cut.  I haven't ever been hungry.  Sometimes I forget to eat because of it.

Wow - I had never heard of this. Is this an intentional extra step the surgeon takes or just an incidental thing?
