Day 7 of 2-Week Pre-Op Liquid Diet
Well, so far so good!! Day 7, and haven't cheated once!! I have to admit, Friday was the hardest day, when my roommate cooked bacon! The smell drove me crazy lol Luckily there is no more bacon in the house. I told her if she had been cooking bacon with onions, I might have had to kill her . A nice hot bowl of beef broth got me through that!
Experimenting with flavorings has made it fun and easy. Pineapple and coconut flavoring in my shake...Pina Colada!! Cocoa and coconut...Mounds Bar!! Having fun playing mad scientist.
Almost halfway there!!! Surgery is Monday, Oct 31...woohoo!
Good job! It's sometimes tough to do the 2 weeks of liquid but you've got this! The goal is in sight and will be here before you know it.
I haven't been able to find sugar free pineapple flavoring locally so I may have to break down and buy it online....I'm still old-fashioned and like to the store.....one day I'll learn it's easier to get things delivered to the door. I'm allergic to coconut, so I'll have to stick to the pineapple.
Best of everything in your journey. Be sure to let us know when you're back home from your surgery so we can officially welcome you to the Loser's Bench.
Good friends are like stars.
You don't always see them but you always know they're there.
Thanks, Anita!! I'm a long-time online shopper...I hate going to the store and avoid it whenever possible. Don't even get me STARTED on Wal-Mart hahahaha.
However, I did get my flavorings from my local Price Chopper. Goodman's Brand imitation flavorings---banana, coconut and pineapple. No sugars in any of them, so you might look for them in your area! A couple of their flavors did have sugars though...you can check out the nutrition info for all their products at http://www.goodmansvanilla.com/Goodmans-Nutritional-Informat ion.pdf
I have a few friends who own small businesses, so I like to support them..........never shop in Walmart.....the stores are populated by crazies....and I have a former co-worker who went to work for them and because they pay so little, they advised her on how to apply for food stamps......wrong on so many levels. Fortunately, she got a job in a better place and is able to pay her bills. She said she didn't want to go for the food stamps because there are others who need it far more than she would because they might not be able to work and she can.
Thanks for the Goodman's information....will check it out locally.
Are you on the west coast? I'm in NY, about 45 minutes outside of mid-town Manhattan.
