Thank you for these links. I am concerned about post surgical walking. I have seven screws in my foot from a failed surgery. Every step I take is painful. How long before I can return to the pool? Every piece of advice urges us to walk but what about those who struggle? 

This has to be your surgeons call as he/she is the one that is viewing your healing process.  The water is a GREAT alternative to walking.  Concentrate on your food/eating getting your protein in and heal.  You will get back to the water soon enough.  Good luck to you and keep us posted on how you are doing 

I use salonpas from Walgreen for pain and also I gave a tens machine. Wishing you all the best on your new life !!
