Fall2016 VSG-ers?
Having VSG on October 12th!!! So excited for this journey! I've researched and researched, and have a fabulous team at Tufts, so haven't experienced much for nerves yet. Just want to get on with my new life.

Surgery Date- 10/12/2016!!
I don't have my date yet but am hoping I might get it tomorrow at my appointment. All I need is to get my lab work done and sign the consent forms. Hoping for a late October/early November surgery! Guess we will see if my clearances are all good and maybe he will schedule me. Maybe I will be right along with y'all.
I just got home from the hospital. Had the procedure yesterday. Everything went well. The Dr said I did a good job of shrinking my liver so I would recommend starting the pre-op diet early if you can. I did it for 25 days and lost 46 lbs. I did 3 bariatric advantage shakes a day with a grilled piece of chicken or boneless pork chop and a vegetable for dinner. Also start exercising as best you can. I went from my back hurting and not being able to walk far at all to walking almost 5 miles the day before surgery.
Post op walk as soon and as often as you can. You will not feel like doing this but it helped tremendously. I had very little effects from the gas and the incisions have minor pain. They said because I walked so much yesterday and today I probably won't get the gas pain in my chest and clavicle area. I haven't experienced that yet so fingers crossed.
