Chewable Multivites - BLECHHHHH
What is the deal here? Every chewable multivitamin that I have sampled has tastes like I poured an entire crystal light pouch into my mouth at once. I can barely stomach the taste, it is soooooo overly sweet! I had the same experience with some of the calcium chewables, but fortunately, I found a Bariatric Advantage one that I am over the moon for (coconut, YUMMMMM)!
Does anyone have any suggestions on not so sweet tasting chewable multivitamins also without a overbearing Iron smell??

You don't have to use a chewable, regular multivitamin pills are just fine. You may have to split them into smaller pieces for the first few weeks post op, but otherwise there's no problem. I use the Walgreen's version of Centrum women's, since I can't stand chewables either.

My surgeon's office said all vitamins have to be chewable at first so they absorb properly. My vsg manual says the same thing. I will just have to confirm with them in the hospital after surgery before i go home because I can't deal with these sugary things.

I use Trader Joe's High Potency chewable multi's. For the first several months I did a double dose, one in the morning, one at night. To me they have a very mild flavor. They are very cheap, plus certainly lower calorie and lower carb than the bariatric specialty vitamins that are like candy with vitamins added in.
My labs have always been terrific btw.
After surgery, I couldn't stomach the chewable vitamin. They made me throw up. So I called my Nutritionist and she suggesting crushing them and mixing them with plain greek yogurt, and that worked for me. I'd have a little yogurt every morning and evening with my vitamins crushed with a spoon and mixed in.
I did this for about a year. Now I can stomach the vitamins without a problem.
I hope this helps
Carol
