Drinking 4oz at a time??
When you say at a time, what do you mean? I'm assuming small sips pretty quickly? I would say not to worry. Do you feel any pressure with eating (assuming you are yet)? Or with protein shakes? Reason I ask, if you dont have the sensation of full yet (some of us get it, some dont) then you may not realize youre stretching it out, you know?
If you do get full sensations, and theres no discomfort, as long as your sipping but rather quick, I would say carry on. I was able to get down warm/hot chicken broth pretty quickly shortly after my VSG surgery. I dont know how big of a sip/gulp I can take now almost 3 months out, but i still sip. I can do about 3 decent sips then I feel funny and have to wait for it to pass thru my stomach before carrying on (like, maybe 30 seconds or a minute)

Permanently? I dont know. I more meant for a short moment. If our stomachs can only hold 3oz of liquid at a time, and we put 3oz it will feel stretched out. It moves thru, quickly.
Ive heard of stomachs stretching a decent amount (on here, from my surgeon group, etc) but that would I imagine be from food. And overeating.

No. Water basically goes straight through our sleeve, while dense protein tends to sit around.
Liquids cannot stretch a sleeve.

You'll be alright, but just take it slow as far as gulping. Trapped gas sucks, especially early on.
Think of your throat and stomach like a funnel. You can pour a bunch in, but it only goes through the funnel so quickly. Smaller, more frequent drinks will -probably- make you feel better rather than drinking more quickly.
As with all things, results will vary!
