I would totally sign up for team carnivore if it didn't involve eating so much meat. Eek.

I'm actually a vegan, 90 percent of the time. You know, while I'm sleeping, and in between meals.

Tonight I touched my husband's meat for him. Not often I go there. Sous vide steak though... I am coming to realize that my biggest hang up is the idea of bacteria yuck not getting cooked out. I can't stomach well done meat and pink is just sketchy. With sous vide though due to the longer cook time at the lower temp it kills off the ickies. I actually really enjoyed the steak tonight- very unusual. I am suprised to read you are vegan 90% of the time- far more than what I would have guessed!

I'm sure it was a happy day for your husband, with you touching his meat and all.

Try using the search button & look at the previous posts in the what are you eating threads in the rny forum. They can give you ideas on what to eat & the forum is pretty active, plus they have different people in various stages of their weight loss journey.
Like some have mentioned earlier, definitely read the labels when it comes to buying those shots, I personally wouldn't buy the shots that list collagen as the first ingredient, or really any of those supplements since they can put any amount they want in there.
There's plenty of protein alternatives besides fish & cottage cheese.

I love the Gorton's grilled fillets. They are the perfect size and full of protein. I had one of the salmon fillets for dinner tonight. Sheesh! I sound like an ad :P
Lord. I am two weeks out of surgery and I can't believe I'm throwing my hat in this ring, but this is the most riduculous thing I've read lately. While I'm a new wls patient, I have 32 years under my shrinking belt of being a medical technologist. This means I analyze your body fluid proteins; total, albumins and otherwise, in a hospital laboratory. My advice to you is if you're too prideful to listen to Grim and the Hags around here, you'd best fire your doctor and hire you a good nutritionist. I have seen too many patients over the years; RNY patients who are skin on bones and under home health care because they did not dheir part in meeting their nutritional needs. They die a slow, painful death because their bodies use, guess what? Their heart, kidneys and whatever muscle is available. Please don't be one of those patients down the road. Do your homework. Research. Not this site or a body building site, but hard facts. Good luck.
Thank you for this. I have been on OH for 12 years and sadly have to say that I have seen several of my peers die from not doing what they're supposed to in terms of food and supplements and from the quiet WLS killer, alcoholism.
