Is there anyone at or below goal having trouble maintaining weight?
Keeping the weight off gets harder every year for me. I can gain ten pounds in a week if I am not very careful. Some people do get too skinny during year two, but it is almost impossible to find someone who is too skinny by the end of year three.
The body knows that it has been starved after surgery and it is smart enough to know how to regain its weight. I used to be able to lose seven pounds in a week at Weigh****chers. Now I struggle to lose one pound a week on a lot less food than what I used to eat on the Weigh****chers plan.

i got to goal but kept losing unintentionally. I finally had to eat a spoon of peanut butter every day to stabilize. That was 5 years ago. Now I have to work at avoiding regain and have about 5 pounds i would like to drop 6 years out. I know others this has happened to. It will stabilize eventually but talk to your doctor. diane s

The sad fact about losing weight -- in fact, the dirty little secret -- is that the less you weigh (thus the closer to goal you are) the LESS you can eat.
It sucks.
I've yet to meet anyone 2.5 years out from RNY or VSG without a serious medical problem, that isn't struggling to MAINTAIN or stop regain. No one.

yeap.. that is the issue... after year3 - if you keep losing and not really work on that - something is off.. really off

Statistics say, on the average, that you are going to lose 50-60% of your excess weight.
