Food stuck hours later
Just recently I had another episode of food being stuck. It took literally hours to clear it up.
Ate about 5 ozs of Chicken Cordon Bleu along with some green beans for evening meal at 5:15 p.m. I was still dealing with the pressure at 12:30 a.m. that night. Finally, after numerous attempts to burp, belch, yada yada.... I had relief. My guess is I ate a bit too fast and/or didn't chew quite enough.
Is that normal? Most people on here mention food being stuck for maybe an hour or so at the longest. Mine, 7 hours..... and it seems to get worse towards the end. Usually not too bad the first 3-4 hours and is tolerable.

You also may have just eaten too much. Everyone is different but I can only eat around 1-2 ounces of meat right now. I notice if I eat too much or too fast it sits/gets stuck. It's not a fun feeling, so I usually start with just an ounce and sit and wait to see how it feels before continuing. Certain foods are easier to eat but dense protein like chicken is definitely harder to process (at least for me).
Maybe start with an ounce or two and then wait to eat the rest. I usually put my plate/fork down and wait about 10-15 minutes before continuing.
Good luck, sorry that happened. It's definitely a learning process.

Ha! I totally read that they had surgery on 07/01/2016! I was thinking "wow, there is no way I could eat that much". Makes much more sense now, LOL!
I did the same thing so I had to keep rereading the surgery date... was thinking how there must be something wrong :P

Hi,
That stinks! I over ate or ate too fast - or both and had the foamies - nothing helped excepting walking. Burping helped too, but walking helped the most. 5 oz is a lot though - I was told we are only supposed to have 3 oz of meat at a time.
I walked so much that night - and finally I was able to "throw it up". I learned pretty fast. I am 4 years out and still have to slow myself down. Still fighting my head :) and probably always will.
Good luck to you and try to slow down and chew, chew chew.
I'm thinking you ate too much at 1 time & maybe the chicken was too dry. Everyone is different but 5oz of chicken & green beans at the same time might be a lot. I know for me chicken that is too dry will give me that stuck feeling, but eating too much will also give me that stuck in your chest feeling too.
