Stomach Upset
Has anyone had stomach upset on the pre-op diet? I'm only on day 2 but last night I had actual stomach pain and this morning some diarrhea. The Dr. or nutritionist hadn't mentioned this so I'm wondering if it's normal.
Not typical. Did you start a med that might be triggering it? Probably just a coincidence, but as always mention it to the docs.

No new meds but I'm also not used to sugar-free stuff, so I wonder if it's maybe an aspartame reaction to the Jell-O and popsicles I've been eating.

That could definitely be part of it. Some people have trouble with artificial sweeteners. Sugar alcohols in particular are notorious for messing with your stomach!

Yes I'm on the Proti shakes, 4 times a day, but I'm happy if I get in 3 of them. I hate the taste so much that I'm almost choking them down. Yuck!
You need to experiment with varies shakes until you find one you like. I changed from whole milk to almond milk, it made a big difference. Add ice and grind in blender makes a big difference. I love the smoothie version.
