net carbs?
A carb is a carb. Net carbs is a trap.
There is no such thing as net carbs on a nutrition facts label. Net carbs is always on the box or wrapper, meaning it is just hype and advertising. Don't fall for it.

It has been a long time since I was a hard core low carber but the theory behind this is that fiber is not digested and therefore does not provide any nutritional value except roughage. That is why it was subtracted. I am surprised to hear this concept has changed. Something to definately ask the dietician about.
If you were talking about the fiber in a natural food, such as celery, this would be true. But all of the "fiber" listed in processed foods definitely has nutritional value, raises blood sugar, contributes to RH, etc. It is absolutely a carb, and needs to be counted as such.

I do net carbs, personally. Not saying it's right for everyone, but for me, as a Pre-op, it has helped me lose more weight than other diets!
All carbs.
