Birth control pill after vsg

Has anyone gone back on the pill post VSG and it didn't work? I've never had a problem with the pill, but now I'm nervous that I could get pregnant. 

I can't speak for the pill, as I had an IUD prior to surgery.  I was pregnant three weeks after having it removed (about a year post-op), so who knows what would've happened if I'd been on the pill!
