Pregnant or ladies who have been pregnant since sleeve surgery
on 6/6/16 2:16 pm
I had surgery in December 2013 and got pregnant in January 2015. My son is now 7 months old.
The pregnancy was amazingly uneventful. No blood pressure or preeclampsia, no gestational diabetes, and aside from 24/7 queasiness in the first trimester, problem-free. I gained more weight than I should have-- about 40lb. Labor was rough (kiddo had the cord around his neck and I needed an episiotomy), but it would have been far worse if I weighed what I did before surgery.
At 7 months pp, I'm down by 22lb. Losing is HARD-- but only because I've been slacking. Old habits came back HARD when I was pregnant, and I'm still fighting to get my eating under control. Carbs, late-night snacking during midnight feeds, slipping on my mental game.
I was maintaining at 150 before getting pregnant. I'm shooting for 160lb as a post-baby maintenance weight. Right now, I'm a solid size 10/medium, and if I could go down to an 8, that would be wonderful. I know I can do it if I get my act together. But it's far harder than I expected.
