Newbie saying hello

Hi there

I have been lurking on these boards for awhile now, thought I should properly introduce myself! My name is Dee, 54 from Sunny So Cal.

Like so many of you I have battled my weight for nearly all my life. I had started the process of weight loss surgery back in 2006 but soon after was diagnosed with Vasculitis and was on massive amounts of Prednisone. for about 5 years. Surgery wasn't an option then.

Now I am ready! My insurance approved the surgery and I am scheduled for a VSG on June 24th! I am nervous, scared but most of all excited to start this new chapter in my life. I have read many of the posts on these forums and watched a lot of YouTube videos on weight loss surgeries. 

Looking forward to sharing my journey with all of you.

I am excited. May I ask who your surgeon was?

My surgeon was Sami Hamamji in Santa Ana.  He was a sweetheart!

So what hospital were you in?

I am using Michael Feiz and the surgery will be at Marina del Rey hospital

Hi Dee, welcome!   I've been on this site since 2004, way before and after WLS and it's very helpful to have the support!   I am newly back from taking a break from it, trying to jumpstart my weight loss again.   Good you finally spoke up and said hi, and good luck on your weight loss journey!
