Checking In
Hi all,
I see someone asked about me, so I figure I should make the post I've been putting off.
I decided to have weight loss surgery around the same time my dad was diagnosed with Merkel Cell Cancer, so most of you know that I've been back and forth to PA for his major medical stuff the entire time I've been posting here. You might also know that my weight loss has stopped since my dad had a tumor removed from his brain about a year ago. After that surgery my dad went through more radiation and more chemotherapy but nothing was able to prevent his decline and, since his second batch of radiation ended in February, his decline picked up speed.
To make a long story short, since I'm never sure how much detail I should go into, my dad died on the 9th after two extremely comfortable and pain-free days in a wonderful hospice.

I'm so sorry for your loss, Gwen. My father died of cancer 33 years ago, and it had a profound impact on me and my life decisions. Hang in there. It does get better over time.
Thanks for posting. You were missed.
