I don't know how to get the protein without the shakes...

I switched from shakes to Quest bars to get in more protein.  They can be a trigger food for some people, only you will know if they fit in your plan.  I also like tuna, jerky, turkey pepperoni, and Dannon light & fit greek yogurt for days when I need extra protein.

I just finished my first month and cannot eat 3.5 oz of meat.  Plus I'm very tired of the protein drink, so I'm going with protein bars for at least one dose of protein.  May want to check them out only if they are not a trigger for you.  They are not a trigger for me.
