What cha eating today, VSGers? - Sunday
Hi everyone,
In my continuing saga of trying to get back on track, I had a meal before I left for the party last night, thinking I'd avoid the appetizers and make it to the main course. Well, the party was all appetizers and deserts! so that didn't work so well.
So, I'm back to square one, trying to get off the carbs. sigh
Breakfast - salmon
Lunch - crustless mushroom quiche
Lunch2/snack - broccoli slaw
dinner - salsa verde chicken and mashed caulliflower
vitamins - good
water - good
exercise - You bet I'm going to be walking today!
How about you? What cha eating today?

Tomorrow is weigh-in day for me! I am hoping for better results this week than the last two weeks.. I've been so well behaved! Lol =)
Someone just asked me this a few days ago, so I just copied my response here. Yes, I find the salmon as a nice way to start my day.
...
I cook it sous vide, which is a French style of cooking where the food is sealed in a vacuum-sealed plastic bag, and then submerged in a low temp water bath (140 degrees) for a long time. It causes the food to cook without losing its moisture or texture due to getting too hot. Then you'd seer it to give it the right texture on the outside. I like it for the salmon because it comes out very soft and moist which appeals to me. I also often cook my chicken sous vide, and then use it in other recipes.
The sous vide equipment is expensive, and I wouldn't have purchased it, but my hubby get the idea from a friend who was a gourmet chef and he got it. Its good, but I don't know if I'd replace it if it broke.... not worth the money to me. But I'm glad to have it now.
best wishes,
Carol

Starting week 4 out needed to go back to some full liquids due to popping some internal stitches. Real food was making me a bit queasy:
Breakfast: 1.5oz greek yogurt unflavored with 1.5oz unsweet apple sauce, and 5g protein added unflavored (took pills with this)
Snack: Same as breakfast
Lunch: Real treat Baked potato soup 3.5oz with cheddar cheese 1/4 ounce
Snack: 2.5oz of the soup above
Dinner: Will be 3oz of a green chili chicken soup
Snack: Yogurt mix as above and take vitamins.
Water is slow today but everything I'm eating is liquidy too so I'm moving along. Protein will be a lower today but I'm happy to be feeling hungry rather than queasy. First day back to work as well so trying to just take it easy and establish times for food and snacks. I'll be more creative soon.
